San Francisco: Good Eats and Coastal Treats

San Francisco is an epicenter for good eating, and with thousands of restaurants packed into its hilly streets, it consistently tops lists as the best gastronomic city in the U.S. High-end Michelin star restaurants mix with hole-in-the-wall home cooked meals, each igniting the taste buds in their own unique way.

One of my favorite things about the Bay area is that you can satisfy your taste buds and your thirst for nature at the same time. Taking a road trip up PCH (the Pacific Coast Highway), to oyster central’s Bodega Bay, Tomales Bay and Marshall, is a great way to take in some refreshing coastal scenery before filling up on what I found to be the best oysters of my life.

I thought I’d take this opportunity to use my Samsung SMART CAMERA NX mini to get some drool-worthy shots of these marine delights. Using the Food feature available in Smart mode, you can take crisp photos that enhance the colorful tones of every morsel.

From there you can easily snap and share using the Wi-Fi mode, which allows you to post your photos directly onto photo sharing sites like Facebook. You can even add your own comment which will appear alongside your photos once you post.

To shoot your favorite dishes using the Samsung Food feature simply select “Food” among the scenes available In Smart mode.

With our oyster “appetizers” out of the way, we took a detour into wine country to the lovely Francis Ford Coppola winery for some proper bites and entertaining ambiance. Filled with props from all of his famous films and an outdoor pool to relieve you from the summer sun, we sat outside with the backdrop of the vineyards to keep us company. Each dish is inspired by the director’s favorite Italian meals growing up, and we took full advantage by finishing off our dining adventure with some wine and panna cotta!
